02 Jun, 2025 Pride Month is not as popular as it was last year – is the tide turning?

Every June for the last few years, it seems as if every corporation under the sun had a plan for proclaiming “Happy Pride Month,” and it was practically inescapable. Whether it was Target’s enormous rainbow-adorned displays or Disney Plus’s “Pride Collection” on their streaming service, it seemed as if the entire world was on board with the LGBTQ agenda.
While veterans and wounded warriors get one day here and there to commemorate their sacrifice, it seems lopsided that those who identify as part of the LGBTQ community get an entire month to celebrate their sexuality. This seems to suggest that corporations and government facilities see the celebration of hyper-sexuality as some kind of patriotic martyrdom, and yet the manifestations of Pride Month over the years have grown increasingly graphic: drag queen story hours in libraries, for example, or men openly wearing lewd clothing in pride parades where children are present…the list goes on.
And while we, as Christians, love and pray for our LGBTQ brothers and sisters, loving them versus affirming anti-Biblical cultural trends are certainly two very different things.
But it appears that the tide is turning away from hyper-sexuality and toward a more metered approach. And, while Americans are certainly free to choose to live whatever lifestyle they see fit, the Christian perspective on issues of gender and sexuality is quite clear and bifurcates sharply from culture’s message on loose and easy sex.
God created marriage for one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matt. 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:22-33, Hebrews 13:4. etc.), and the Bible clearly defines the parameters of such a healthy and harmonious relationship. The many shades of of the sexual rainbow or neither Biblical nor do they objectively seem to produce anything edifying for our culture, other than create confusion and disorder.
It’s been refreshing, then, as a Christian, to see Target (one of the foremost corporations who touted Pride displays in their stores) largely skip over June’s Pride Month celebration in favor of patriotic attire and decor – a stark departure from last year’s LGBTQ displays.

I’ll add to this my own personal experience. Just a week ago, while shopping at Old Navy, I was pleased and delighted to see the store displaying prominently red, white, and blue clothing for women, men, and children. It was refreshing to see a touch of patriotism restored to Old Navy, and it was even nicer that it was child-appropriate!
While things in America may seem chaotic at times, know this, Christians: there are good and edifying things happening. There is progress being made on the front lines of fighting for Biblical values and truth, and while we love our neighbors and pray for our LGBTQ friends and family, it’s so important to defend the Biblical worldview on issues of morality and sexuality.
This year, it appears that the long fight is beginning to pay off, and we can all be grateful to God for that!

A story about one girl’s harrowing experience with “gender affirming care” and how it impacted her life:
Prisha Mosley is a 24 year-old woman and gender detransitioner who endured years of medically-induced pain and mutilation at the hands of doctors under the guise of gender-affirming treatment. Prisha describes how a dangerous online community convinced her that she was really a man trapped in a woman’s body. She also highlights how she suffered from Borderline Personality Disorder and the horrific depression that took over her life as a teenager, mostly due to being sexually abused. Prisha details the horrific aftermath of receiving hormone treatment and a double mastectomy – and the long term side effects she now suffers as a result, including massive joint pain. She says she regrets every aspect of the gender transition process and is on a mission to warn youth to think twice before transitioning.
