The Leviathan spirit: what is it? In deliverance ministries, the “Leviathan spirit” is used to describe a type of demonic oppression that results in pride, chaos, twisted communication, and deception.

The word “Leviathan” appears several times in the Bible, usually in relation to a kind of fire-breathing creature or a symbolic analogy of destruction. The conflict between God and Satan is a tale as old as time – literally. The battle between good and evil, which will climax in the final battle of Armageddon, is an inescapable push-and-pull we as Christians live within. The tension of living in a fallen world as a Christian can take its toll.

And while Christians cannot be POSSESSED by demons (the Holy Spirit indwells believers: John 14:16-17, Romans 8:9-11, 1 Cor. 3:16), we can certainly be spiritually ATTACKED by demonic forces, either directly upon us or through someone else. Remember, the spiritual world is very real, and Christians are often at the center of a spiritual battle swirling around them – they may not be able to see it, but man…sometimes, you’ll be able to FEEL it.

Consider this verse from Ephesians 6:12 in the New Testament: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Yes, spiritual warfare is real, and if chaos, twisted communication, and deception are a constant presence in your home, it’s time to put on the armor of God and pray!

See the full verse in context in Ephesians 6:10-17:

¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ¹³ Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, ¹⁵ and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ¹⁷ Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Leviathan spirit may be a new term for you, but rest assured: it’s just a different word for the same old spiritual tricks from our enemy, that old snake, Satan.

Leviathan UNMASKED: Josiah Sill

Has chaos ever become so prevalent in your life that you wondered if it was a spiritual attack? You could be dealing with the Leviathan chaos spirit! Indeed, this millennia-long conflict between God and Satan has played out across history, with mankind right in the middle of the spiritual war. Josiah Sill shares his Biblical knowledge on the topic of the Leviathan, tracing a line from Genesis to Revelation and pointing out many scriptural references regarding this demonic spirit. Josiah is a Christian author, father, and the founder of Remnant Flame Press. The Leviathan in Scripture, he says, whether a real or allegorical creature, represents Satan. It’s a façade worn by our greatest enemy – an enemy who will be vanquished by Jesus Christ in the end.

Why AUDIBLE prayer is important when doing spiritual battle – Kathy DeGraw

What are some signs that you are being oppressed by a python spirit? What is a python spirit? Kathy DeGraw knows exactly what people are dealing with when it comes to this demonic spirit. Kathy is an author, TV host, and podcaster, but most prominently, she is a deliverance minister. In her meetings, she says people are saved and healed by the spirit of Jesus Christ. She also testifies that she has been healed by Jesus 17 times! Her ministry deals frequently with the chaotic and oppressive python spirit – a spirit that squeezes, crushes, and ultimately attempts to kill its victims by stealing, crumbling, and destroying precious things in their lives. She equates the python spirit with physical illness and encourages those who are suffering from it to pray out loud, pray often, and seek deliverance.
