I live in Pennsylvania. 

Until COVID19 hit, I had no idea who was our Secretary of Health.  With this in mind, when Dr. Levine first appeared on television to address the pandemic, I decided to find out more about her.

Dr. Levine is a pediatrician. She graduated from Harvard College and the Tulane University School of Medicine and completed a residency in pediatrics and fellowship in adolescent medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan. She practiced there from 1988 to 1993.

After moving from Manhattan to central Pennsylvania in 1993, she joined the staff at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.  During her tenure, she created the Center’s adolescent medicine division and eating disorders clinic. Additionally, in 2015, she was nominated by Governor Wolf for the position of Pennsylvania Physician General. She served until 2017 when she became the PA Secretary of Health.  

Not to mention, Rachel Levine was born a man (Richard).  When he started to identify as a woman in 2011 he also began transitioning his body to physically imitate one.

Why should you care about Dr. Levine’s history and background? 

We started to check the box for equality when the Governor of Pennsylvania appointed Dr. Levine. By doing so, a pediatrician was able to dictate, mandate, and control the actions of the people of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Levine was able to do this without ANY medical background in infectious disease and epidemiology!

Why should the woes of Pennsylvania concern you?

If confirmed, Dr. Levine will have a position of authority and oversight for the entire nation. We can check the box again with the Equality Act hanging in the balance.  This time, the box will support an agenda; the agenda of the Equality Act.

Above all, the Equality Act redefines what it means to be male and female.  The bill defines and includes sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity among the prohibited categories of discrimination or segregation based on (1) an association with another person who is a member of such a protected class; or (2) a perception or belief, even if inaccurate, that an individual is a member of such a protected class.

Dr. Levine’s background and career will promote the liberal agenda put forth in the Equality Act. How do we know this?

Senator Rand Paul held an interview with Dr. Levine.

In the interview, Senator Paul directly asks Dr. Levine if she supports government intervention to override parental consent to administer puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or amputation surgery to minors. Dr. Levine’s response was not an answer, but a statement.  She explained that transgender medicine is a complex field.  Further, she also expressed her willingness to discuss protocols concerning transgender medicine with Senator Paul if confirmed.

Therefore, mainstream news outlets called Senator Paul’s line of questioning an outright attack on Dr. Levine and the LGBTQ community.  Some demanded Senator Paul apologize. His remarks have been described as “homophobic rants”.  He was ostracized for “behaving monstrously”. Even his credibility as a doctor was attacked when they identified him as, “just an eye doctor”.

This is how mainstream media twists a story to fit its narrative. 

Senator Paul’s so-called “rant” was actually a defense.  He was trying to protect the well-being of children that face gender identity issues. Dr. Levine’s evasion of his questions and the media’s response supports everything The Equality Act exemplifies.

Consequently, if Dr. Rachel Levine becomes the Assistant Secretary of Health, we will check the box once again. 

It is unfortunate that Dr. Levine will leave a checkmark we can’t erase.
