What Is The New Age Movement?

by Katrina Cheshire

The new age movement is closer than we realize…

“Game of Gods: The Temple of Man in the Age of Re-Enchantment”, is a new book that gives you a thorough and revealing look at the New Age Oneness movement and the paganism and occultism that is taking over Western thought. It is a historical overview of paganism, describing how our current world is heading back to pagan roots. Man must worship something; if it is not the one true God, he will find another. We are seeing an increase in entire generations who are choosing to reject God – and turning to other forms of worship.

Worship that has roots in old traditions and paganism.

This book describes ancient paganism as “all things that exist are physically and spiritually part of each other.” The world should “become aware of the god that is within us.”

Interesting. Satan said that he “would exalt his throne above the stars of God.” (Isaiah 14:13). What happened to him?

The author of this book, Carl Teichrib, has heavily researched these topics and has an extensive background and experience in the areas he writes about. As an evangelical Christian, he believes in personal liberty and freedom.

Oneness:

“Oneness” is an increasing theme as the days grow darker. We keep hearing the words “one-world government”. People have been talking for years about becoming “one” with the earth. In fact, many religious leaders talk about “oneness” – that all religions are actually “one,” and that we are “one” with God.

The book quotes one author as saying that “All is God and God is all…Tomorrow’s God is Awaking.” Really. Hmm. What kind of god are they making?

All distinctions are blurred in “oneness”. A dangerous idea. The Bible says that we are not one with God; we are not God. We are separate and distinct creations of a Creator. Furthermore, we aren’t one with the earth. The earth was given to mankind for him to steward and tend. We are not one with each other. Instead, we are individual humans who all have a personal choice to accept or reject the gift of salvation.

Why does this topic matter so much?

As Christians, we should “always be ready to give a defense to everyone.” (1 Peter 3:15). We are also told repeatedly to “not be ignorant.” Game of Gods is a powerful tool for Christians to understand this important topic!

Far too often, I find myself faltering when it comes to explaining Biblical truths to others. There is nothing worse than feeling ill-equipped to answer others’ questions. This has nothing to do with us. It has everything to do with the eternal salvation of those around us. We should be moving people closer to Jesus, one day at a time. Yet, if we are not confident about what we believe, how can we answer questions about the truth?

What can we do about it?

While we don’t know how much time is left on earth, it is clear that the days are growing increasingly darker. As more freedoms are taken from us, more areas appear grey. How should we act in these times? The Bible calls us to be “strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you.” (Joshua 1:9). We are ambassadors of Christ Jesus to a dying world. We need to be confident about what we believe so that we can help others who are lost!

I believe that it is essential to understand the truths that we believe in our own hearts! Billions of people out there are eternally lost – that truly believe they are masters of their own destiny and desires. Are we letting people head to hell and saying nothing because we aren’t confident about what we believe?
