Many people lost their lives in order to give us our freedoms today. Let’s collaborate together to help preserve and protect our freedoms for our children.
Memorial Day – a day we honor all of our servicemen who gave their lives to protect this beloved country.
Seeing so many Americans lose their lives in order that I could have mine, I feel compelled to do the same thing. If we don’t help preserve the freedoms men (and women) died to give us, then we will lose them. Today, we are under attack from within our borders by our own government’s bureaucracy. They are stripping our freedoms and trying to reshape the values our country was founded on. We must fight back.
One of the biggest misconceptions in the past several decades that needs to be corrected is the whole issue of separation of church and state. Many people believe it means that anything religious is forbidden when regarding the state or state institutions. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Satan wants us to be deceived. Separation of church and state isn’t even mentioned in the Constitution. Zach Lee states, “There is nowhere in the Constitution that forbids individuals from mixing faith and politics or from sharing their faith in a state-related function or location.” In fact, the First Amendment was created to keep the state out of the church, not the church out of the state. We must be educated in the history of our nation, what our rights are as believers, and not remain silent.
Our founders of the American republic all had these things in common when creating the Constitution and Bill of Rights, according to the Heritage Foundation:
- They firmly believed that God ordained moral standards and that moral laws took precedence over human laws.
- Our founders saw liberty as the freedom to do what is morally correct.
- America’s Founders believed that humans were created in the imago dei—the image of God.
- Faith led many Founders to conclude that religious liberty should be extensively protected. Many also believed that civic authorities should encourage Christianity and that it is appropriate to use religious language in the public square.
Knowing why and how this country began will help us discover what we must do to preserve and protect America for generations to come. If these truths are not taught and not exercised, like any great nation in the past demonstrates, our country’s very foundation will crumble. There are many issues happening in our country that go against these values. Abortion, sex outside of marriage, murder, child abuse, drug use, slavery, homelessness, common core in our school systems, are just some of the many ways Satan is attacking our great nation.
If these things were happening just 200 years ago when our nation was founded, the people would have stood arm and arm and stopped this evilness in its tracks! There is much work to be done. Let’s find a purpose, stand for something and get to work. Let’s collaborate and attack some of these major threats that our country is facing for the sake of our future generations and as a tribute to all the lives that were lost.
The best way to protect and preserve our freedom is to speak up and be bold when we know something evil is taking place. A quote I will never forget was on a wall near the exit of a Holocaust museum in the Netherlands that I visited in 2001. It said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Edmund Burke’s quote literally changed my life. I stopped, stared at that quote on the wall and proclaimed that I would do what I could and speak up when something evil was taking place – even if it might cost me my life. Fourteen years later I still have that same drive. My passion is to see others grasp on to this same mission and purpose and share truth with others, no matter what the cost.
GOD BLESS AMERICA and THANK YOU to everyone who has ever served our country. May we NEVER take our freedoms for granted.
