Gathering Wheat: Will you heed the call?

Editorial/Biblical Reflection/Testimony

It’s pretty clear that we’re living in end days.

At the very least, we can all agree that we’re living in dark times.  Many of us ‘awake’ Christians have read articles, and/or seen many videos that have given us an insider’s perspective on things like  the One World Order, Chem Trails, The Illuminati, and so on.  Many are taking heed of the warnings of upcoming food shortages and are storing up grain and non-perishables in their pantries… But my question is: are we helping our Father to store up wheat in His barn?

Supernatural Provision

Laurie Ditto has wisely said about this upcoming famine, that as we share our food, the Lord will cause it to physically multiply!  Jesus did this very same miracle more than once during His earthly ministry.  And we know from His Word, that we who believe in Him will do even greater things than He did (see John 14:12)!

So, we know that God can take care of us during these upcoming world crises.  God will provide for us when we’re in need if we’ve been faithful to help provide for others who are currently in need (Joe Sweet/Laurie Ditto).  This can look like providing food, shelter, funds and clothing to the homeless… But it can also look like providing spiritual food to those who are too lost to even know that they’re in need.

To Whom Much is Given, Much Will Be Required

Even as believers, we will all have to stand before the judgment seat of Christ and give an account for what we did with all we’ve been given.  If we’re American Christians and have been fed with this insider knowledge of the Illuminati, One World Order, Mark of the Beast, and have the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, then we have been given much!  Surely the Lord is not just entrusting us with all of these hidden truths just for the sake of knowing.  Knowledge is power, and with power comes responsibility.

Many of us are becoming informed about the evil that has seeped into our culture, entertainment, and society, and hopefully we are taking steps to protect ourselves as well as our families from its poison.  But my question is what are we doing to help our neighbors who can’t even see the danger sign?

Will We Stand in the Gap For the Lost?

No matter what may happen to us on this earth in the next few years, if we have truly turned away from our sins and are following the Lord Jesus Christ, we can take heart that we have a far better destination, which is close in sight.  If we’re still living in willful sin as Christians, we must turn now, because we can see clearly from the Word that we can land ourselves in hell if we’ll refuse to turn, even as Christians (Matthew 7:21-23, Matthew 24:13, John 15:6, Hebrews 10:26, etc).

But, if we ourselves have been freed from willful sin by the power of Christ, and have been informed about all the wickedness going on in high places, what are we doing for our fellow man still lost in darkness and deception?  What about our lost family members, who will likely land themselves in hell unless someone warns them and intercedes for them?

Let’s Roll Up Our Sleeves…

My dear brothers and sisters, there is so much work to be done.  Our dear Lord Jesus Christ weeps night and day in utter agony over the sheer magnitude of souls who are on their way to eternal damnation, unaware and horrifically unprepared.

How shocked so many ‘good people’ will be when they take their last breath thinking that they lived a good life, and kindly leaving their will and estate with beloved family members… to then fall asleep and then wake up in unimaginable suffering that they can never escape, from which they will have no relief?

Where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’ (Mark 9:48)

Dear brothers and sisters, now’s the time to roll up our sleeves!  For the harvest is ripe, but the workers are few (see Matthew 9:37).

He Doesn’t Need Perfect Vessels, He Needs Yielded Vessels

I’ve often marveled, and even trembled at how much the Lord can use us to witness when we will merely yield ourselves as tools available for His use.  We don’t need fancy words, or eloquent speech, just obedient hearts.  In fact, we may even initially feel our knees tremble as we step out in obedience and talk to a certain individual who the Lord puts on our heart.  The Lord is not looking for strong people!  He is looking for weak people, who don’t necessarily have everything figured out, but are hungry to obey Him.

For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.  (1 Corinthians 2:2)

Evangelism is for All of Us

I think of the example of my Christian grandparents.  They were not travelling evangelists, pastors or preachers, they were just Christians.  But they were witnessing to me and standing in the gap for me, which we’re all called to do: grandparents, parents, daughters, sons, cashiers, and shoppers alike.

My grandmother interceded for me when I was extremely lost in the throes of homosexuality, show-biz, and occultism, and my grandfather shared Bible scriptures with me in our phone conversations.  Did I like what they were telling me?  Usually not.  Am I grateful for what they told me?  Absolutely.

God can use us no matter where we are, no matter who we are, no matter our limitations.  His Word does not return to Him void when we share it.  Even if we find ourselves confined to a hospital bed and are somehow unable to preach the Word, we can still intercede powerfully for the people around us, or whoever else the Lord puts on our heart… even if we have to pray under our breath.

In the Blink of an Eye…

Our lives on this earth will be over in the blink of an eye.  In mere moments, we’ll be brought before the presence of our Lord, and what will matter more than almost anything is if we did His will.

The righteous will hear “Well done, good and faithful servant.” and the rebellious will hear “I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.” (see Matthew 7:23).  There will be so much joy for those in heaven, who did the will of the Master.  But there will be much sorrow for those who did not, even if those individuals are still saved (Joe Sweet).

Additionally, there’s the sobering, unshakeable reality that many of our countrymen, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even family members will end up in the lake of fire unless we as the body of Christ will take seriously the command of our Lord to preach the gospel and make disciples.

Will you heed His call?  He doesn’t need your ability, He doesn’t need your strength, He just needs your ‘yes’.  The Kingdom of Heaven is enlisting soldiers for a special op that involves snatching souls from a fast moving train that’s headed off the edge of a cliff, into an eternal fire.  God can use you, will heed His call?
