Finding good quality, moral-rich books that are the perfect length for parents and kids, is a rare find. And if you want great illustrations to go with? Keep dreaming. Well moms, I’m happy to announce, that I’ve found the perfect book series, “Adventures of the Sea Kids,” by GML Publishing. It has surpassed all my expectations. While touring numerous booths at the International Christian Media Conference in Orlando last month, several books on display caught my eye on one of the tables. After flipping through the first book, I was hooked. I knew my kids would love these books and I knew I couldn’t leave the conference without them. Unbeknownst to me, I actually talked to the author of the series, Lee Ann Mancini and after our short discussion regarding a lack of good books for our kids to choose from today, she said she would send me the entire series for free. What a treat!

The Last 5 Things Jesus Told Us to Do

Let's get busy!

What was the ultimate demonstration of LOVE? Christ dying on the cross for every person on the planet! Here’s what He told us to do! Let’s get busy!

Recently while getting my morning run in, I was listening to the book “Radical: Taking Back Your Faith From the American Dream” by David Platt. His book challenged me to think about how I live my Christian life out daily. What should our main focus be? We say common phrases like “sharing our faith” or “inviting people to church” or “telling others about Jesus” but do we really do it? Should that really be our main focus? Platt said our schedules will show whether we are putting Jesus first or not. I’ve always cherished verses like Matthew 28:19-20. These words take on a whole new meaning after listening to this book. It states, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Attend a Conference Every Year

Why I'm addicted to attending conventions

Do you love learning new things and expanding your reach with the message God placed on your heart? Then register to attend a conference today!

Ever since I was a kid, I just loved learning. I would read books in our huge apple tree in the front lawn of our 300 acre farm. I would get done doing the farm chores, grab a book and head midway up that tree to gain more knowledge and understanding about the world. The only thing was, the more I learned, the more I yearned to venture off that farm and travel around the globe. I wanted to experience all that I had read about in person. And that…I did.

Besides reading, one major way that helps me hone my craft is by attending national conferences. At least once a year, I register for a convention that equips me do what I do better, whether it would be mothering or mentoring. The more I learn, the better I can be to reach others with the message and mission God has placed on my heart.

While walking through the exhibit hall this week at the National Religious Broadcasting conference in Orlando, Florida, the Cosmo Hurts Kids booth caught my attention immediately. I am fully aware that Cosmo has pushed the envelope over the past few years. It went from somewhat good advice for teens to currently featuring barely clothed girls on the cover. However, anger quickly arose when I was shown the recent issue of Cosmo magazine at this booth run by three hard-working women advocates who’s mission is to put a stop to the madness!

The Top 5 Benefits of Being in a Mastermind!

Stuck in a rut? Need help to take your dream or mission to the next level? Done trying to figure things out on your own? Form a mastermind today!

About 2 years ago, I was stuck! I knew I had a message that saved lives. I’ve been sharing the jam-packed media show called Hollywood Exposed for over 14 years, however, now a homeschool mom of 4, I still want to reach the masses but I knew the method of delivering that message would need to be tweaked. After going through Michael Hyatt’s book “Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World” with my dear friend Kim Keller, I knew this conference would be a great follow up to the book. The more I could learn about how to get my message out to more people, the more people I could help. I was in!

It was November 2014, when I flew to Denver, Colorado to attend a conference I didn’t know would change my life. The Platform conference’s main mission, hosted by Ken Davis and Michael Hyatt, is to help people build and expand their platforms. Whether you’re a speaker, writer, blogger, vlogger or even a business owner, this conference helps equip people to hone in on their talents and become laser focused on building their mission and message online. “They know they have something great. They just can’t figure out how to let the world know about it,” explained former Chairman and CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishing, Michael Hyatt.

It was like drinking out of a fire hose for those 5 full days at the Platform conference. One of the takeaways, was that a majority of leaders were involved in a mastermind at one time in their life. And their testimonies about them made me want one!

Wondering What a Mastermind Is?

I did too. Forbes contributing writer Stephanie Burns commented in her mastermind article, “A mastermind group is designed to help you navigate through challenges using the collective intelligence of others.” Over the past year and a half, I’ve realized that together we can become more powerful than pursuing our mission alone.
