Resources/Biblical Perspective

On Friday, the Department of War, as part of an interagency effort, released the first in what is supposed to be several tranches of declassified UFO files, and the footage and photos are bizarre: oddly shaped aerial objects, moving rapidly in every direction, shaped like discs or concentric rings.
From photos of supposed “light” forms just off the surface of the moon during the Apollo 17 mission to a now-viral video of a 2013 UAP that looks suspiciously like the Seraphim described in Ezekiel, the internet has been rife with debate and theories about what these objects are. Aliens? Little green men? Demonic activity? For every sound theory, there’s one just as equally unhinged theory on social media, and for the Christian, it’s so important to sift through this waterfall of information with a sober mind and a hefty helping of discernment.
Many Christians online have pointed out that the viral image published on Friday of a multi-pointed, circular, fluidly moving UAP closely matched the description of an angel described by Ezekiel in the Bible:
15 As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces. 16 This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like topaz, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel. 17 As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not change direction as the creatures went. 18 Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.
Of course, this does not mean that what Americans are seeing on limited, grainy footage is the same being described by the prophet Ezekiel, but it does make you stop and think: how much of this aerial phenomena is celestial? There is nothing in the entire universe that exists outside the purview of God. He created all things, both within and outside of the Earthly realm. How do we know? Because the Bible says so! Take a look at Colossians 1:16:
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
There is nothing that Christians should fear when it comes to “UFOs” or “aliens.” The concept of little green men is a largely modern fad, fueled by years of pulp fiction and science-fiction books and films. That’s not to say that there isn’t validity or credibility to UFO claims – not at all! But Christians need to keep things in perspective: humans alone are made in the image of God (Imago Dei), and the Gospel message is true regardless of whether we can visibly see the spiritual realm or not. Christians may catch glimpses of this spiritual world (which could be the source of this wild UAP phenomena), and that’s okay! This only solidifies the credibility of Scripture:
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Eph. 6:12)
Consider this: Earth is just one small part of God’s universe. How silly are we to think that we are alone in this universe? Of course we aren’t! God has legions of angels at His command. He resides in a spiritual realm unseen to us now, and yet, it’s a very real place. Isaiah 66:1 puts it like this: “Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? And where is the place of my rest?'”
The world is uniquely under the lordship and control of God. “Aliens” aren’t real, but the spiritual world is. Be on the lookout for fear-mongering about UFOs and aliens in the coming days. Arm yourself with God’s truth and the steadfastness of His Word, which cannot be prevailed against. Celestial beings may be interesting, but they are not God. They should not be idolized or worshipped. Heed this very clear warning in Galatians 1:8:
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.
In a world rife with chaos and confusion, turn your eyes to Jesus and ground yourself in His truth.
“And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.” (Deut. 4:19)

Thomas Carey
When a UFO incident is reported, what happens afterward? In the case of Roswell, New Mexico, what happened was a massive government effort to conceal and secure the crash site and ‘little people’, sparking questions, theories, and confusion. Through the haze of misdirection, investigative researcher and author Thomas Carey joined forces in 1991 with Kevin Randle and Donald Schmitt to uncover the truth. Amid their research, Thomas was able to track down the archeologist who first witnessed the Roswell crash site and eliminate some of the incorrect theories being shared, like whether debris was also collected on the Plains of San Agustin, roughly 120 miles west of Roswell. He also reveals shocking details about the extraterrestrial bodies allegedly taken from the crash site: four dead and one still alive!
