Just like THAT, the summer has come and gone in a blink. Back-to-school shopping is now on the agenda (if you haven’t tackled it already!), and it’s likely your kids grew at least an inch over the past two months (just me?). Between the last-minute scramble for a lunchbox or the to-do list for curriculum if you’re homeschooling, Christian parents have the unique responsibility of juggling spiritual guidance with the demands of state educational criteria.
Whether you’re keeping your kiddos close for a homeschool experience, sending them to public school, or enrolling them in a private school, there are so many resources available on this journey. Unlike just a few decades ago, the world of resources have exploded. I remember, as a homeschooled kid in the late 1990s and early 2000s, how much different it was: homeschooling fairs, thumbing through curriculum on long, white tables, searching for textbooks in paper catalogs and ordering by phone. What a different world it is now! Curriculum and resources are ALL around us. There is no shortage of help.
The Gospel Project Curriculum
If you have enjoyed Jared Kenney’s The Beginner’s Gospel Story Bible like we have in my house, you will LOVE this newly launched companion curriculum for use at home or in Sunday School. Perfect for kids in preschool or daycare, the curriculum covers 52 key stories from the Bible in an age-appropriate way that teaches your little ones about the truth of the Gospel and the goodness of God. Learn from other homeschooling parents
Amber O’Neal Johnston is a homeschooling veteran of four children. After experimenting with homeschooling for just one year, she fell in love with the experience, and as her educational journey with her kids has progressed, she has plenty of wisdom to share. She also edited and compiled a very encouraging anthology of reflective essays from homeschooling parents across the board: Homegrown: Guidance and Inspiration for Navigating Your Homeschooling Journey. Learn more HERE.
My Father’s World curriculum
Whether you’re homeschooling or looking for resources for a micro or private school, My Father’s World offers curriculum for preschoolers to 12th graders. Lessons are pre-planned and learning is fun with “thematic, hands-on projects” steeped in a Christian worldview. Learn more HERE.
LifeWise Academy (Bible education for public school kids)
If you’re looking for a way to help public school kids in your community connect with the Word of God, don’t hesitate to check out LifeWise Academy – an organization that brings Bible education to public school students. How? They lean on a Supreme Court ruling from 1952 that allows them to meet three important conditions to take kids off-campus for a brief Bible class. Anyone can start a chapter, anywhere in the United States, by following a simple, 10-step process. It’s an amazing idea that counters the secularization of public school campuses today and brings the light of the Gospel to even the darkest places. Learn more HERE.

It’s the “best of homeschool, private, and Bible-based education all rolled into one!” All you need is a computer and internet access, and you’re set. At LUOA, students have 24/7 access to their school resources, along with a detailed calendar that shows their weekly assignments. Take it on the road – take it anywhere you need!
