The Games Every Gamer Is Excited About

As we wrap up this year with some amazing games, and the release of TWO new ones, I wanted to make sure we covered the 8 of the most exciting games coming in 2021. Every gamer is excited for these!  Ok, maybe it is just me!

However, not all of them are recommended by any means.

This information is for you to be aware of what your kids may be asking to play, good or bad, and you should always keep that in mind. We always keep you the most up-to-date via POP CULTURE ALERTS which you can subscribe to by downloading the Counter Culture Mom app.

The Top 8 Exciting Games of 2021:

1. “Hitman 3”

First in the exciting games list is a game marking the trilogy of the Hitman series. An interactive role-playing game where the payer takes on the role of Agent 47, a trained assassin tasked with carrying out various missions to take out targets and ultimately bring down a drug operation.  The ESRB has rated this game Mature 17+ for the violence, drug references, and strong language including “f**k” and “s**t.”

*We highly suggest watching the trailer and making a very thought out decision on this game.

2. “Prince of Persia: Sands of Time” (Remake)

Second, we have the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake. This classic game dating back to 2003. Clearly, this one of the most highly anticipated games. You can see a comparison of the original game to the remake on Youtube. This is an exciting development that is sure to bring nostalgia to those who played the original game.

Despite this excitement, this game will feature blood pools and slow-motion kill effects. This is added to with the exposed buttocks of a female character not to mention it is followed by a cut scene where no genitalia is shown but sex is strongly implied.

3. “TemTem”

Thirdly we have TemTem to consider as one of the most anticipated and exciting games. It will be released late next year instead of it’s original date which was early January 2021.  This game is available for prerelease play on steam and based on gameplay video it appears to be a cross between animal crossings and the ever-popular Pokémon games. In a similar style, you will collect and train creatures to then battle against other trainers (sounds familiar). TemTem has not been rated by the ESRB but is noted to have battle style violence with no blood or gore.

4. “Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury”

Fourth on our list adds to the ever-popular Mario Universe is the multiplayer game where players work their way through the stages of a colorful 3D world. Using power-ups and teamwork you can make it through these exciting challenges. Very little is known about the game except that it will be exclusively available on the Nintendo Switch systems and is slated to be released in early February of Next year.

5. “Cris Tales”

Enter into the world of Crisaline, a girl with the ability to manipulate time in her attempt to foil the Empress’ plot to destroy the world. This Japanese Role-Playing Game (JRPG) is sure to be a classic and from what I can tell currently may be family-friendly for your children. If you want to better understand this game you are currently able to play a beta version on most major platforms here.

6. “Halo Infinite”

The sixth game in the lineup has been highly anticipated for all Xbox based gamers, Halo Infinite. With its announced creation in 2018, there has been a stir about this exciting game. It has been delayed from its former release date of early November of this year. Halo Infinite will now be released at a currently unknown time in 2021.

Although unrated by the ESRB at this time, current Halo games have traditionally held a T or M rating. We can expect the standard violence, blood splatter, and some profanity. Here is where you can see more about the release updates over time.

7. “I am Jesus Christ”

This game has caused an interesting reaction and could prove to be quite a thrilling game. I think when it comes to exciting games, who wouldn’t want to be Jesus? StimulaM is a christian led company, and they are the ones making this game. This RPG game is being made by SimulaM, who is a Christian led company. The gameplay has been kept a secret, only revealing that you will be able to walk through the life of Jesus. It takes you through the Gospels and perform the same miracles He performed. In fact Counter Culture Mom will be receiving a pre-release copy of the game in early February 2021! That means you will get the scoop before it even comes out!

8. “God of War: Ragnarok”

We know this game is set to launch sometime in 2021, but we don’t know much more than that. Kratos (The Spartan God of War) is found in the Norse Pantheon along with his now-adult son who was featured as a child is a preceding game. Drawing only from the title and a cryptic trailer, we do know that we can expect a world-ending game. We do know from the most recent God of War game that it was rated M 17+ by the ESRB for violence, gore, and strong Language.

Notably, some of these will be great and others not so much. As we get closer to potential launch dates be looking for our alerts and reviews in the App for more information and potential pre-release gameplay notes!
