Find out what a major media mogul really thinks about our kids. It goes way beyond wanting to make some cash. Bob Pittman says he owns our kids.

“We’re dealing with a culture of teenage babies, they can watch TV, do their homework, and listen to music all at the same time. The strongest appeal you can make is emotional. If you can get their emotions going, make them forget their logic…you’ve got them. At MTV, we don’t shoot for the 14 year olds – WE OWN THEM,” boasted Robert (Bob) Pittman in the Philadelphia Inquirer way back in 1982. Pittman was the founder of MTV, the former COO of AOL Time Warner, chairman of Clear Channel Media and creator of iHeartMedia. He has controlled a majority of the entertainment that Hollywood has pumped out over the past three decades.

This jaw-dropping quote has opened the eyes of thousands of people I’ve spoken to for the past decade. My major concern is that if Pittman’s main role in the entertainment industry is to oversee all of the global media properties including broadcast, digital and mobile, syndication, media representation and Outdoor, according to his Wikipedia biography, we are in deep trouble.

Sadly, Pittman, who was named “the Most Powerful Man in Radio,” by Radio Ink magazine, and other culture and media shapers like him, have had more than 30 years to influence our mindset, and worldview. You and I both know that our world is a hot mess. Hollywood has shaped our society into exactly what they want us to become. Violent, unaccountable, purposeless pleasure seekers who, instead of thinking for ourselves, simply parrot what they tell us to believe, what they want us to talk about and participate in addictive and destructive behaviors that cultivate more of the same.

The entertainment industry, in cahoots with government, has a much larger agenda than just selling products. Violent movies and video games go way beyond than just causing night mares and aggressive behavior. Which is bad enough. For more than two decades, I’ve studied, researched, had countless conversations with and interviewed many celebrities. All for the purpose of finding out how their minds worked and how they viewed America’s youth. What I discovered was eye-opening! Hollywood and the Government are connected and they have an agenda. They are after our children’s hearts and minds. This “beast” wants to control how our kids think and behave and it’s time we put a stop to it. Here’s a quick clip of just one performer at the 2014 Grammys. Katy Perry did her “Dark Horse” witch performance. Millions were influenced. This guy breaks down what the significance was of the dark horse, the lyrics and the reasoning behind her message. (heads up – there are a couple of bad words)

If Pittman’s goal was to “own us” over 30 years ago, today’s culture is a direct result of what one of the biggest influencers of our time was shooting for decades ago. Our worldview has been primarily formulated out of what we’ve been “fed” by the media. So what can we do to win back our culture? To create a country full of hope, sense of responsibility, belonging and purpose?

Here are some quick tips to apply so you don’t “forget your logic” like Pittman hoped to achieve.

It’s so much more than the “sex sells” message. Choose wisely what you allow into your head and heart. Hollywood can try to control us, but guess what, in the end, WE have the choice of allowing them to or not. One of my all time favorite quotes is from John 8:32 ~ “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Do the research above and share with every single person you know.
